Loma Linda University Health Content Platform

Loma Linda University Health (LLUH) undertook a large-scale digital transformation to modernize its web infrastructure, enhance brand engagement, and streamline content management across its vast network of schools, hospitals, and departments. The primary objective was to replace an outdated, decentralized system with an intuitive, scalable platform that could effectively serve students, patients, faculty, and donors. The institution needed a flexible, enterprise-level solution that would unify web content, improve digital asset management, and enhance marketing capabilities—all while maintaining its reputation as a cutting-edge leader in healthcare and education.
As part of this initiative, we developed a comprehensive digital strategy to empower patients with a robust suite of online tools. The program introduced self-help health resources, optimized patient intake channels, service line-specific on-site search, digital wayfinding, and process guidance to enhance the overall patient experience. Additionally, SEO and SEM campaigns with targeted conversion landing pages helped drive engagement, while updated physician directories and personalized content ensured patients and their loved ones could access the right information at the right time. The entire approach was designed to deliver relevant, timely information at every stage of the patient journey, ultimately improving healthcare experiences and outcomes.

To achieve this, we implemented HP Autonomy’s suite of web content management and digital asset management solutions. The adoption of Autonomy TeamSite and LiveSite enabled over 300 staff members to create, modify, and publish dynamic content across the university’s websites, intranet, and microsites, significantly reducing reliance on technical teams. Additionally, the institution centralized its digital assets—more than 80,000 files previously scattered across hard drives and local storage—by deploying Autonomy Virage MediaBin, ensuring efficient collaboration, version control, and disaster recovery.
A key component of the LLUH strategy was leveraging Autonomy IDOL’s AI-powered analytics to deliver personalized, context-aware web experiences. This technology enabled advanced search capabilities, ensuring users could quickly access relevant content across multiple platforms, including physician directories and internal news portals. Furthermore, LLUH embraced augmented reality (AR) through Autonomy Aurasma, using it to create immersive marketing campaigns that engaged prospective students at college fairs and national conferences. Custom AR applications allowed users to interact with video content and seamlessly navigate to relevant online resources, providing a modern, interactive experience that resonated with tech-savvy audiences.
This multi-phase transformation not only streamlined operations and improved digital efficiency but also positioned LLUH as a forward-thinking institution that embraces cutting-edge digital engagement strategies. By unifying its web infrastructure and leveraging AI-driven content personalization, we significantly enhanced LLUH’s ability to attract students, engage donors, and serve patients, reinforcing its reputation as a leader in healthcare and education innovation.
My Role:
Working alongside the Lead Digital Strategist, I served as the Project Manager, overseeing the roadmap, design, development, implementation, and release while managing stakeholders and program timelines. About a year into the campaign, I expanded my role to lead strategy, documentation, and client relations, working directly with LLUH’s CMO and Director of Marketing. In this capacity, I collaborated with service line directors to optimize individual service lines, ensuring a targeted, high-impact digital experience across the organization.
